A SWANS fan has shown permanent dedication to his team with a tattoo.

Christopher "Buddy" Hill has been inked with the League Cup trophy on his left leg.

Underneath the cup are the words "Swansea City League Cup winners 2012/13".

"I'm a massive Swansea fan and it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate your team winning a major trophy," he said.

"After coming back from Wembley I booked the day off on Monday — I'm a machine operator at Swansea Industrial Components in The Strand — and headed straight out to have the tattoo.

"I had it done at Skin-n-Ink in Swansea.

"They said I was the first one, but they are hoping it will catch on."

Mr Hill, from Trallwn, also celebrated his 36th birthday on Saturday, so it was a weekend of celebrations.

A season ticket holder, he was at the match at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, enjoying the atmosphere.

He already had two Swans badge tattoos dedicated to the team, one on his arm and one on his back.

He said everyone who saw the tattoo loved it, adding: "I'm saving my other leg for when we win the FA Cup."

Mike Thomas, a tattooist at Skin-n-Ink in Mansel Street, Swansea, said he believed Mr Hill was the first person in the city to have that tattoo.

He said it took around two-and-a-half hours to complete.

"He was knocking on the door at five to nine and we don't open until 10," he said.

"It is great to see the Swans win and great to see such a dedicated fan supporting them.

"He was the first one to have it done here, and I think the first in Swansea. We are hoping to see a lot more."
