STARTED in 2005 by Jayne Gethin, Swansea commercial cleaning franchise ServiceMaster now employs 105 staff with plans to create more local jobs as it continues to grow.

The company covers Bridgend to West Wales and puts its success down to its ongoing investment in its staff which it says in turn benefits clients.

The business has recently expanded its Llandarcy premises, putting in a new mezzanine floor converting it into a two-storey building to accommodate extra office staff.

The renovation took place thanks to grant funding of £5,210.

The grant application was supported by the Business Wales onestop-shop service, a Welsh Government funded service, which has been providing ServiceMaster with general business advice for the past year.

Franchisee Jayne Gethin outlined how pleased she’s been with the support, “Our business adviser Laura Nicholas has been brilliant, she’s always at the end of the phone to provide help and advice when needed.

She signposted us to the right people and the right support including the funding, and helped us with the grant application from start to finish.

As a former business owner herself, Laura really wants us to succeed and she’s been supportive throughout,” said Jayne.

ServiceMaster won the Skills and People Develoment award at the South Wales Chamber of Commerce Welsh Business Awards 2013.

A company which prides itself on its high standards of staff training and development, high quality standards and investment in its staff, it was rewarded with an Investors in People Bronze Award on its first assessment.

In 2010 Jayne Gethin was also awarded with the highest ServiceMaster national award.

Jayne Gethin explained, “We strive for excellence in everything we do as a business. Our emphasis has always been about people and making sure our culture is right. We maintain a strong working relationship with customers at all times and provide a professional, personal service tailored to suit their needs. It’s been hard work but I’ve enjoyed every minute,” continued Jayne.
