- We are a wrestling club that practice Olympic Freestyle Wrestling and Catch as Catch Can wrestling.
Freestyle wrestling is a style that allows the wrestler to utilize both upper body and lower body attacks with a view to taking down and pinning their opponent, points can also be accrued towards attaining a victory where the wrestler does not succeed in obtaining a pinfall.
Our members regularly train with the national squad at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
We also practice "Catch wrestling" or "Catch as Catch Can" this is very similar to freestyle wrestling however the rules differ allowing the wrestler to utilize submission holds as well as pins.
Both freestyle and catch wrestling provide an excellent supplement to modern mixed martial arts training as well as other grappling systems, many top level professional fighters around the world have come from a wrestling background.
We welcome all experience levels to the club whether you are looking to progress in the sport of wrestling or if you are simply looking to keep fit, wrestling provides an excellent level of all round conditioning that can benefit you in other sports also.
All our sessions are instructed by coaches from the Welsh National Wrestling Squad, with several of them having represented the nation in events such as the Commonwealth Games.
Classes take place every Monday at the Saron Hall, Saron Road, Bynea, Llanelli SA14 9LT, from 715 - 915pm
The team also trains at the Welsh Centre of Wrestling Excellence, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff every Friday from 630 - 830pm
