GOWER MP Martin Caton has backed a call for hospitals to remove commercial sales reps from ante-natal wards to hand out free samples and promotional leaflets.

The issue has been raised by website Mumsnet.

Mumsnet Founder Justine Roberts said: "We're delighted to see MPs getting behind this campaign. Everybody loves a freebie, but there is a time and a place for direct sales, and it's not on postnatal wards, hours after women have given birth. NHS trusts need to start putting new mothers' rights to privacy before commercial gain, we hope that Martin Caton can help us apply more pressure to end this practice."

Please look back to the post August 15th , the fire service were trying to enlist retired workers to fill in for cover during the strikes. The crux of the matter is that older people are not as fit as younger people which is no insult to fire fighters, it is a fact of life. Pensions are something that are agreed on when they are set up and for the government to change the rules if an when it feels like it is unacceptable. There are many other examples of the government tampering with pensions. I hoe the short sharp shock works as I feel it is only the public who will suffer if the government do not resolve the pension problems.
