Right from the start you could sense that Mumbles were up for an epic battle. The game started with West End keeping most of the possession but not many opportunities came either way. James Eynon came close a few times with great individual efforts down the right wing.

The opening goal eventually came after Daryl Hughes chased a lost cause down the right wing to keep the ball in. He cut inside past two defenders to lay the ball on nicely for Danny Williams to side foot in from just inside the box; the effort going over Mumbles keeper's arm and into the net.

Ronan Templeton nearly doubled the lead after a great shot from the edge of the box saw Mumbles keeper Jac Greenwood makea brilliant diving saveto deny Templeton. A second effort saw Templeton's effort go just over the bar.

Number two for West End did come after Danny Williams returned the favour to Daryl Hughes with a fine pass to his feet which saw Daryl turn the two Centre halves and fire into the top corner. Two debatable offside decisions denied Daryl Hughes a hat-trick.

Mumbles continued to battle well and were nearly rewarded when Jake Cogger was one on one with Sam Williams only for Brandon Tickner to barge him off the ball to save the day and keep it 2-0 at the interval. Owen Evans also came close with an effort from outside the box going just wide of the post.

The second half started slowly and ended up being quite a scrappy half. Brandon Tickner went off and Liam Williams came on to sit in as Centre half with Tom Carpenter. The boys at the back worked hard to keep the sharp Mumbles counter attacks at bay.

Mumbles did have two free kicks in the half both of which were just off target from Callum Carson and David Fligelstone.West End had an opportunity to make it 3-0 when a Ronan Templeton shot was saved by Greenwood and fell nicely for Daryl Hughes who volleyed only to see Greenwood outstandingly tip it over the bar. James Eynon could have also scored a brace from consecutive corners but his glancing headers both went wide.

Three simultaneous substitutions of Jaye Tebay, Christian Mort and Jordan Phillips fir West End saw them try and push for another goal but adversely Mumbles eventually closed the gap when Callum Carson picked the ball up inside the West End half, cut inside and shot from 30 yards over Sam Williams and into the net, an outstanding effort.

After that Mumbles pressed for an equaliser to no avail and West End were all too glad to hold on for the referee's for final whistle.

Man of the match for West End was Danny Williams but would ultimately have to be awarded to Mumbles goalkeeper Jac Greenwood for his outstanding performance in keeping the score at 2-1.West End's lowest scoring game all season.
