YOUNG performers are being given the chance to earn a new qualification aimed at developing their acting, singing and dancing abilities.

Stagecoach Performing Arts School in Swansea has teamed up with the Performance Arts Award (PAA) to offer its aspiring performers a chance to increase their portfolios.

They are the only fully integrated musical theatre exams which individually grade each student within a group examination.

Luan Davies, Stagecoach principal, said: "PAA musical theatre exams are unique in their ability to develop fully rounded performance skills in acting, singing and dance, which in turn develop student confidence and communication.

"PAA examinations are accredited by vocational qualifications regulator Ofqual, and as such provide candidates with credits that automatically form part of a career-long portfolio."

The school already offers tuition in Lamda examinations which are recognised for UCAS points when students apply for university.
