THE chief executive of YMCA Wales "is not in work" while an inquiry is carried out, it has emerged.
The chairman of YMCA Wales, Peter Landers, told the Post that it planned to keep the Charity Commission abreast of the matter.
YMCA Wales provides services to young people and their communities throughout Wales, and supports 24 local YMCA associations.
In a statement to the Post, Mr Landers said: "Ms Mo Sykes, the chief executive of YMCA Wales is currently not at work while an inquiry is carried out into administrative issues within the organisation.
"Ms Sykes continues to be a full-time employee of YMCA Wales.
"No board member has been suspended, excluded or has resigned in the recent past and no action has been taken against any trustee.
"The action involving Ms Sykes is 'neutral' and was taken to facilitate this internal inquiry, and does not imply any wrongdoing."
He added: "In accordance with our regulatory obligations we will be keeping the Charity Commission informed of the situation."
Mr Landers declined to comment further on what the administrative issues referred to.
