Police are appealing for witnesses after two children and a 20-year-old woman escaped a house fire in the Clase area of Swansea.

The fire, which happened at around 2am on Monday morning at a house in Creswell Road, is believed to have been started deliberately.

Detectives say the woman and two children, aged 15 and 11 months, left the property via the back door.

Acting Detective Inspector Ricky Price of Swansea CID said: “We are appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the Creswell Road area just prior to 2am on Monday morning to come forward.

“We are also appealing to anyone who may have information about this incident to contact the police. Fortunately the fire did not spread and therefore the occupants were able to leave the house unharmed.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
