WALES has been hit by another round of flooding this weekend causing disruption across the country.

The River Towy in Carmarthen burst it banks and motorists were forced to negotiate flooding at Vennaway Lane in Kittle, Swansea.

The Environment Agency had also put a warning in place for the River Cothi at Pontargothi and Pontynyswen.

Torrential rainfall caused flooding by the River Tywi, in Ffairfach, near Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, and a flood warning is expected to stay in place for 24 hours.

In Carmarthenshire, two canoeists were found safe after they overturned in a fast-flowing River Towy at Rhandirmwyn, near Aberdovey.

GrahamHillier, from Environment Agency Wales, said: "We're asking people to take extra care as the risk of flooding continues. We're advising people to keep an eye on weather forecasts," he said.

The forecast shows rain should ease by this afternoon with drier weather in the days to come.
