WIN a part in an opera at Swansea Grand Theatre ... for your dog!

Calling all dog-lovers: does your four-legged friend have the X-Factor needed to appear on stage in a professional opera?

Puccini’s La Boheme, the timeless tearjerker set in bohemian Paris, returns to Swansea’s Grand Theatre on Thursday, February 12.

And we’ve teamed up with Ellen Kent Opera’s and Swansea’s Grand Theatre to offer one lucky charismatic canine the chance to appear in one of the scenes - while the proud parents watch on!

“The dog is central – it lifts the whole scene and brings it to life,” says opera director and producer Ellen Kent.

“It gives the scene a sense of reality and makes it sparkle.”

The winning dog will need to be well behaved, and its owners will need to be on hand during the production.

There will also be three runner-up prizes of a pair of tickets to the show.


To be in with a chance of winning, simply send a picture of your dog, along with your name, address, and a brief paragraph explaining why your dog would be perfect for the part, to:


Closing date: Tuesday, February 4, 2014.

Winner will be announced in paper and online on Thursday, February 6, 2014.

The winner, along with three runners-up, will each receive a pair of tickets to the show.
