A bold new drama series starring Baglan actor Michael Sheen as a sex expert is set to air this Autumn soon after its launch in the US.
Channel 4 has acquired the UK premiere broadcast rights to the first series of Masters of Sex, based on the lives of pioneering sex experts Dr William Masters and Virginia Johnson. It will be shown in 12 hour-long episodes.
Set on the eve of the sexual revolution, the series stars Sheen and True Blood actress Lizzy Caplan as Masters and Johnson, the risk-taking couple who embark upon a study to unlock the mysteries of desire and intimacy – whilst behind closed doors they struggle with their own clash of success, betrayal and jealousy.
Channel 4 Chief Creative Officer, Jay Hunt described the show as "an incredibly classy period drama" which provides a fascinating insight into scientific study of human sexuality.
