Thief steals car after breaking into Skewen home

A THIEF pinched a car after breaking into a Skewen house and stealing the keys.

Police are investigating the burglary which happened just before 2.30am at a house in Park Drive, Lonlas.

Entry was gained into the house resulting in a black Next purse and car keys being stolen.

A blue Ford Fiesta registration CV05TCY was then taken from outside the house.

The car was seen to drive out of the street along with a red motorcycle and has not been recovered.

Around 30 minutes prior to the burglary two men attended the nearby Texaco petrol station on a large red motorcycle.

The men did not remove their helmets while they were at the filling station and police wish to trace them in connection with the incident.

Detective Constable Claire Workman of Neath CID said: “We are investigating any link between the motorcycle which was seen leaving Park Drive just after the burglary and the sighting of a similar motorcycle at the filling station approximately 30 minutes earlier.

“I am appealing to anyone who knows the identity of these males or anyone who has information about the stolen car to come forward.”
