Neath Port Talbot theatre company Theatr na nÓg’s epic three-month stint at the Dylan Thomas Theatre drew to a close last week, with Cllr Marian Lewis, Mayor of Neath Port Talbot Borough Council, popping along to see the final performance of Halt! Who Goes There?.

Over 5,000 local children watched nearly 100 sold out performances, which introduced the youngsters to the lives of ordinary people living in Bridgend at the end of World War 2.

“It was absolutely brilliant - fantastic!” she said afterwards.

“It gave the youngsters an insight into what war is about locally. I thoroughly enjoyed it and plays like this are so important.”
