A SWANSEA Valley man’s garden has made for unpleasant viewing after a mysterious fly-tipper dumped four television sets in it.

Ian Graham couldn’t belive his eyes when looked out the window of his Clees Lane home in Ystalyfera and saw the abandoned sets laying on his lawn.

Fortunately the council has since removed the offending items but the episode was just the latest installment in a series of fly-tipping incidents on his property.

Mr Graham said: “This is probably the sixth time there's been dumping here in the last couple of years - either in the garden, or beside the sand bin, or along the Lane.

“We've had old furniture, old carpet, old chimney liner, a small fridge, panes of glass.

About a year ago, rough waste was dumped on number 4’s parking space, a bit further down the lane, and the Environmental Health were able to trace a man through a gas receipt among the rubbish, and they cautioned him.

“And a couple of months ago, there was a tyre dumped beside our garage.”

Mike Roberts, Head of Streetcare said: “Neath Port Talbot Council is the most active authority in Wales in dealing with Fly Tipping.

“The Authority is committed to continue its zero tolerance approach when dealing with fly tipping and whenever possible enforcement action will be taken against any known perpetrator.”
