A TEENAGER "high on Valium" punched a taxi driver in the face, a court has heard.
Joshua Robins from Northeron Way, West Cross, Swansea, lashed out after getting into a taxi cab on The Kingsway in Swansea, causing a cut in the driver's mouth and bleeding.
Magistrates were told the taxi driver had asked Robins to take the cab at the front of the rank rather than his, and that the 19-year-old was getting out of the vehicle when he turned and throw a single punch.
Roberts pleaded guilty to the January 10 assault.
John Allchurch, in mitigation, said: "The offence was committed by the defendant when he was high on Valium."
Sentencing was adjourned for the preparation of a probation report.
