Swansea man charged with impersonating a police officer

A man has been charged after allegedly pretending to be a South Wales Police officer.

The 22-year-old man was arrested following reports of suspicious behaviour at two locations in Swansea — in Trallwn and Blaenymaes — on March 3.

The man has been released on police bail to appear before Swansea Magistrates Court on Thursday, March 21.

A spokesman for South Wales Police confirmed a man had been charged.

He said: "A 22-year-old man has been charged with offences of impersonating a police office.

"The man was detained following reports of incidents on Mewslade Avenue, Blaenymaes, and Glan-y-Wern Road, Trallwn, on Sunday, March 3.

"He has been bailed to appear at court on March 21."
