A SWANSEA Valley community remains in shock following the death of a mother, whose older brother also died at a young age.

Charlotte Knight, 22, was found last Saturday evening at a property in Tanydarren, Cilmaengwyn, between Godre'rgraig and Pontardawe.

It is the second tragedy to befall the family.

Charlotte's older brother Richard Knight passed away at a younger age some years ago.

Stunned Godre'rgraig councillor Rosalyn Davies said she knew the Knight family.

"It is very, very sad," she said.

"Everybody is devastated," she added.

The Plaid Cymru councillor said her heart went out to the parents, who live close to Charlotte's address.

"I offer my condolences," she said.

The Post understands that Charlotte's brother died of unusual but natural causes as a young adult.

Pontardawe councillor Mike James said the community would offer any support to Charlotte's parents it could.

"The community is shocked," he said.

"Whatever we can do to help, we will.

"We feel for the family.

"My heart goes out to them."

Police are continuing to investigate Charlotte's death.

They have said there are believed to be no suspicious circumstances.

Charlotte's body was discovered shortly after 7pm last Saturday.

The coroner has been informed.

Charlotte, a former Cwmtawe Community School pupil, listed her favourite television programme on facebook as Skins.

There is also a picture on her page of a baby which is captioned 'my lil princess!'.

Charlotte also said she had huge respect for the Armed Forces.
