SWANSEA Tennis Centre is flexing its muscles with a new gym.
General manger Barry Cawte said profits generated by membership fees would be fed back into the Morfa centre, which is run by a social enterprise called TS365.
The new addition, Ace Fitness Suite, is due to open in July with Phil Perkins at the helm.
"I'm excited about being part of a committed team and believe wholeheartedly in the centre's ethos of providing affordable sport and fitness to the local community," said Mr Perkins.
The tennis centre has been run as a not-for-profit facility since 2011, when a group of volunteers campaigned to keep it open following a decision by Swansea Council that it was to close.
The "pay and play" venue has indoor and outdoor courts and runs coaching programmes across the city.
"I'm confident Phil will be a great asset for the centre," said Mr Cawte.
"But the gym isn't just about helping tennis players. It's a facility that complements what we've already got in place."
