SWANSEA City are being linked with a move for Kolbeinn Sigthorsson as Garry Monk's striker search continues.

Monk is keen to add at least one new centre-forward to his squad this summer, and has already made moves for Michy Batshuayi and Luc Castaignos.

Now reports in Holland suggest the Swansea boss has made a bid for Ajax frontman Sigthorsson, who has also been linked with the likes of West Ham, Leicester and Queens Park Rangers.

The 24-year-old has netted an impressive 15 goals in 23 international appearances for Iceland.

Sigthorsson, who joined Ajax from AZ Alkmaar in a deal worth around £3.5 million three years ago, scored 12 goals last season.

Ajax are said to want around £8 million for a player who has captained his country.

Meanwhile, Sunderland are said to have tabled a bid for Swansea skipper Ashley Williams as speculation over his future continues.

It is the silly season. Agents all over the world are in a frenzy because this is the window in which they can get rich so they link their clients with as many clubs as is possible. We must take it all with a large pinch of salt or we will all go insane. GM & HJ know who they want...

Speedman HJ and GM would probably like to keep things under wraps but with players agents leaking news on offers to try and bump up a players value there's no chance of it ever happening.

that is the trouble all the time with our club they have links with players all over the country but nothing deffenate coming out of it, the sooner they mention that the club is after a player other clubs get wind of it so i would like GM AND HJ keep things under raps until the deal is said and done it would be nice to read on here that the club have signed other players before they leave for America as GM has said he would like to do.

Any more "links" and the Club can build a new fence around The Liberty.
