GARRY Monk has warned Swansea City they cannot rely on Michu to haul them to Premier League safety.

The Spanish ace made a low-key return from injury during last weekend's grim defeat by West Brom.

And Monk admits Swansea should not expect great things from last season's 22-goal top-scorer.

"A few of the other boys have been chipping in with goals while Michu has been out, and of course that has to continue," Swansea's head coach said.

"If he can come in and add his quality and get a few goals then great, but it's a team effort."

Michu came on for the last half hour of the Baggies loss — and struggled to make an impact.

"They were difficult circumstances — ideally it would have been nice to bring him on in a better situation," Monk added.

"Maybe if we'd been controlling the game, Michu could have had more of an influence.

"But it's great to see him back fit and those minutes on the pitch will help him."

As nice nails says! We got Everton and Arsenal next. Probably better Michu played in these rather than the WBA game. If we were in control fine but we certainly were not. Monks substitutions have been questionable.

HE has already played him ,and at the right time in my opinion, and after another few games on the bench and a few half hours played should be at his best for the norwich and villa games and to play a full 90 min in these 2 games .These 2 games we could take points from if michu is at his best ,

This is a PR disaster, WBA are taking us apart right from the 46th minute, so Monk waits 20 minutes, takes off one of our better playing squad members and brings on a player who "Maybe if we'd been controlling the game, Michu could have had more of an influence". we were not controlling the game, FAR from it, terrible decision that may just cost the Swans their survival.....

christhejac So when do you think he should start back , he has to come back at some point, so the sooner the better , by the time we play norwich and villa he should be back to his best

All players struggle a bit when they come back from injuries. I am sure he will be 100% fit on Saturday.
