SWANSEA City are in the dark over talk that Liverpool are planning a £5 million bid for Michel Vorm.

There is mounting speculation that former Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers, who brought Vorm to the Liberty in 2011, is keen to take the Dutch international to Anfield to compete with current No. 1 Simon Mignolet.

But Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins told the Evening Post that he has heard nothing from the Reds.

Swansea have been linked with Lukasz Fabianski, the Polish international keeper who is set to leave Arsenal in search of first-team football with his contract up this summer.

But even if Rodgers is serious about Vorm, the former Utrecht star may take some convincing if he is not going to be first choice at Liverpool. Vorm has another two seasons to run on his Swansea contract.

The problem with Vorm is that he doesn't dominate the goal area. We already had one goalkeeper who was called Dracula because he was afraid of Crosses, I just hope Vorm doesn't become Dracula Nr. 2.

Vorm has indeed seemed to take a step backwards this year. Although we need to question if the problem was or was not exacerbated by an inconsistent defense. Personally I think that's priority number one next season is finding a way to tidy up the defense. We also need to start thinking about finding a young replacement for Leon Britton. When he finally decides he is done playing, we'll need another metronome in central midfield.

Michel Vorm has gone backwards during this last season. Mignolet is better. David Marshall is the one I'd like to see coming to us.

Don't think he would play second fiddle to anyone. Doubt he would entertain sitting and watching tbh. Anyway if he does go to Liverpool can we do a swap? That would be fine.
