STEVE Clarke has saluted Swansea City's style in the wake of West Brom's thumping at the Liberty.

Clarke's Albion side arrived in Wales as one of the form sides in the country having won four successive Premier League games to climb to the dizzy heights of third in the table.

But they were blown away during a first half in which Swansea were sensational.

"I can sit here and say we deserved to lose," Clarke conceded.

"We know Swansea are a fantastic team and they play good football, and we knew they would cause us problems.

"But I did not expect so many problems so early, and when you are chasing a game against a team like Swansea it is going to be difficult.

"We have had a really good season, we've played really well.

"We went into the Swansea game confident, but that's football. It happens."

Swansea will find out who they will face in the FA Cup third round when the draw takes place on Sunday afternoon.Tickets for the upcoming home games against Norwich a week tomorrow and Middlesbrough on December 12 are on general sale. Tickets for the games at Spurs (December 16) and Reading (Boxing Day) are also available — see the club website for details of who can buy when.

Good to see a manager actually admit when his side is second best in a game rather than the whingeing we hear from most managers who blame tiredness, the weather, the pitch, the colour of the jerseys and of course the referees. Steve Clarke was straight faced, honest and will move onto the next game and good luck to him and his West Brom side.
