SCARLETS fly-half Steve Shingler is poised to make his long-awaited return from injury this weekend.
Shingler, who hasn't played since November because of a shoulder problem, is set to feature for Llanelli RFC in their Principality Premiership clash with Cardiff at the Arms Park on Saturday.
"I can't wait to get back out on to the field," said the 22-year-old, who made an impressive impact in the opening games of the season following his summer move from London Irish.
"It has been a long process recovering from the surgery first of all and then going through the rehab. I was disappointed to only have played a handful of games for the Scarlets at the beginning of the season before the injury happened, but that's just the nature of the game unfortunately.
"It'll be great to have a run out on with Llanelli and hopefully I can earn my place back in the Scarlets side before the end of the season and help the team achieve our goal of a top-six finish and a place in next season's top-flight European competition."
The Scarlets return to Pro12 action with a home match against Zebre a week on Saturday (6.30pm).
