A SECOND man was due to appear in court today charged with the murder of a retired Port Talbot farmer.
Llewelyn Thomas was found dead at his home in Chittering, near Cambridge, more than a year ago.
Mr Thomas, 76, had farmed in the Margam and Cefn Cribbwr areas before moving to Cambridgeshire with his wife 12 years ago on his retirement.
Frankie Parker, 25, of Nene Road, Ely, and Gary Smith, 20, of no fixed address, were both arrested last week and charged with the pensioner's murder.
Parker appeared at Cambridge Magistrates' Court last Wednesday.
He was remanded in custody and is expected to make his next appearance when the case is transferred to crown court, at a date to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, Smith was due to appear before magistrates today.
Mr Thomas was discovered in his home in Ely Road on the morning of Sunday, December 18, 2011.
He was last seen alive the previous evening.
A memorial service was held for him in Margam Abbey last March.
He left one son — Richard — who spoke at the service.
