SNAP Cymru, Wales' leading parent partnership organisation are looking to recruit volunteers. There are various positions open to prospective volunteers, from administrative to casework roles, but primarily we are looking for volunteers to support our newly launched National Telephone Helpline and the chat feature of our Smartphone app for young people - Wmff! so we can continue to provide exceptional service to families and young people, who need our support.
Our services offer information, advice and support to parents, carers and young people across Wales. This year with the help of our staff and volunteers we have provided services to over 3000 families. We are looking for good communicators, who can think on their feet and ideally have experience of partnership working. In return SNAP Cymru will offer you a dynamic and sometimes challenging opportunity to support those families and young people that need our help. Full on the job training will be provided and there will be plenty of opportunities to develop new and enhance existing skills.
Our Assistant Director and Head of Volunteering Caroline Rawson believes that
"Volunteers are the life blood of the organisation, they make a huge contribution and we are committed to providing them with the best possible support. Volunteering is a two-way process and we want to continue to improve the way we support our volunteers by offering them even more opportunities to gain new skills and feel they are a valued part of the team while making an important contribution to our work to advance the education of people in Wales and encourage participation and inclusion for individuals with additional learning needs."
As an organisation SNAP Cymru has recently once again been honoured with the Investing in Volunteers award; which is the UK quality standard recognising good practice in an organisations' management of volunteers. We are also the only Welsh organisation to receive the Queens Diamond Jubilee Award for Volunteering which recognises the hard work, commitment and generosity of volunteers within national organisations.
There are a wide range of other volunteering opportunities available, so if you would like to find out more then please, come along to our Volunteer Open Day where you can discuss the different aspects of becoming a Volunteer with SNAP Cymru.
