RORY Donnelly is to remain at Swansea City for the rest of the season after it was revealed he will not be returning to Coventry on loan.
Donnelly was supposed to spend the rest of the campaign with the Sky Blues after agreeing a loan move late in the transfer window.
But the striker travelled back to Swansea in mysterious circumstances after just one training session.
Donnelly’s U-turn was later described as being for “personal reasons”, but there was a suggestion he might head back to the Midlands.
That has now been ruled out.
A Swansea City spokesman said: “Rory has returned to the club for personal reasons.
“We are grateful to Coventry City for their understanding and professional handling of a matter that was out of their control and we thank them for their cooperation.”
Donnelly will not now be able to represent Swansea this season as he has registered to play for the League One side.
