THE multi-million pound improvements to Neath town centre have been welcomed by regional AM Suzy Davies.

Neath Port Talbot Council is gearing up to start work on the £13 million first phase of the town's transformation.

This is on top of schemes already carried out across the town.

Mrs Davies said: "I was very impressed with what I heard about the Neath plans.

"The council is spending £1 million at The Parade on new paving and lighting which is at the opposite end of town to the proposed new development.

"It is crucial shoppers are encouraged to walk right across Neath from that development otherwise it will all be in vain.

"Neath is going places. The refurbishment of Victoria Gardens is magnificent and gives the town centre a wonderful, green space.

"I am also a huge fan of the Gwyn Hall, which is a focal point for cultural and social activities."

Does anyone know if Suzi is her real first name, or has she shortened it to appear cool?
