POLICE investigating how a woman come to be found lying in the street with head and body injuries are appealing for information on a vehicle seen in the area.
Detectives say they are keen to speak to the driver of a white van seen around Morfa Street and The Strand in Swansea city centre as he or she may hold vital clues as to what happened to the casualty.
The 30-year-old woman was found lying at the roadside on Morfa Road — near the railway arches — at around 8.30pm on Monday, and she is currently in Morriston Hospital where her condition is described as stable.
Officers investigating the incident have released a CCTV image of a long wheel-base van they want to trace.
Detective Inspector Darren George of Swansea Central CID said: "Having made extensive enquires we are still not fully aware how this young woman has sustained her injuries.
"Officers have viewed a substantial amount of CCTV footage and along with other enquiries have identified a white van in the vicinity of Morfa Road at the relevant time.
"This van may or may not be connected with the incident — I am appealing to the driver of this van to come forward as they may hold important information which will assist our investigations."
Inspector George added that it was believed there were several people in the area at the time of the incident, and he urged them to come forward.
