Police have named the man who died in hospital after he was found lying on a road in Swansea.

Gintaras Zelanius, 35, was discovered in the northbound carriageway of Dyfatty Street at around 5.35am on Sunday.

He was taken to Morriston Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

It is believed the man may have come into contact with a silver Audi estate car.

Mr Zelanius, who was living in the Waun Wen area of the city, was originally from Lithuania.

A 68-year-old woman who was arrested in connection with the incident has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Officers are appealing to anyone who was travelling along Dyfatty Street between 5am and 5.35am and who may have seen the pedestrian or the Audi vehicle prior to the collision to come forward.

Witnesses are asked to contact the roads policing unit on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
