Pentip PA Primary School awarded Basic Skills Quality Standard Mark

STAFF and pupils of Pentip PA Primary School have been celebrating after the school was awarded the Basic Skills Quality Standard Mark.

The school was presented with a glass plaque by Carmarthenshire Council school improvement officer Rosemarie Wallace.

The award recognises the school's work to improve literacy and numeracy standards throughout the school with assessment and monitoring processes.

Head teacher Anne Murawski said: "I am very pleased to accept this award on behalf of both the staff and pupils of the school for their commitment to raising standards in literacy and numeracy."

The mark is awarded by Basic Skills Cymru, part of the Welsh Assembly Government.
