AN open audition is being held to find community performers to take part in this year's Passion play at Margam Park.
Theatre company GradCo is bringing the play back to life between March 29 and April 3 at the Port Talbot attraction.
Rhys Matthews and Vivienne Buckley, who run the company, are now looking for people to take part in the play. An open audition will be held at the Four Winds Hotel on Sunday, February 24.
"We are in the early stages and have cast five actors," said Mr Matthews.
"We have already cast Craig Gallivan, from Stella, who will be playing Judas.
"What we also want to do is what Michael Sheen did with the Passion in 2011 and have members of the public be part of crowd scenes."
The original Passion play, which ended its run in the mid-1990s, was performed at Margam Park.
This was where Hollywood star Michael Sheen was inspired to bring the story back in 2011, which saw thousands of people flock to the town.
In 2011 Mr Matthews played Sheen's brother — but is now taking a step up and is playing Jesus.
The 29-year-old, who lives in Baglan, said: "It will be slightly different this time. I am stepping into some big shoes."
He said following the success of Sheen's Passion they wanted to bring the event back to Margam Park.
"When Michael came and did it we knew it was going to be big, but we did not realise how much the community would get behind it," he said.
"We have 4,000 tickets on sale and we hope people will come to support it. There used to be audiences of 10,000."
Those interested in becoming cast members need to be over 18 and should email their name, date of birth, contact number and email address to email@example.com
Tickets are available from the Princess Royal Theatre, Port Talbot.
