New portrait of Tredegar-born Neil Kinnock on display

It might look like a photograph but this is actually a painting of former Labour leader Neil Kinnock.

A New portrait of Tredegar-born former Labour leader Neil Kinnock goes on show in London today.

Edward Sutcliffe’s painting of Lord Kinnock is included in the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition, on at The Mall Galleries in London until May 23.

Mr Sutcliffe said of the Lord Kinnock sitting: "He was warm and friendly and seemed to have a tireless curiosity and energy about the world around him.”

The Society is devoted to the art and development of portrait painting and other works selected include portraits of Lord(Mervyn) King, the former Governor of the Bank of England and Black Books and The Archers actress Tamsin Greig.

    I'm surprised he didn't include his son in it with him. Then again, he could have included his wife. The picture could then have been called " The Gang of Three !"

    I must admit I greatly admire Neil, anybody who can so singly handedly keep the socialists out of power for 2 decades just has to be admired. Go for it m'Lu'd, I'll never forget your wishing for the House Of Lords to be abolished and now you are one - you hypocritical so and so.
