New coffee packaging recycling scheme in Waunarlwydd

IF your kitchen is getting cluttered with coffee packaging, you can take it to Waunarlwydd Community Centre and raise money for the local primary school.

The Victoria Road centre has introduced a collection box for waste coffee refill bags, coffee bean bags, single serving coffee sachets and coffee jar lids, which will be used to make plastic products such as park benches and waste bins.

Louisa Lowe, who is running the Kenco and TerraCycle scheme in Waunarwlydd, said: "It is great the centre has housed a collection box to enable the people of Swansea to be one of the first communities to be able to recycle their coffee packaging waste."
