THEY are getting ready to do battle at the Swansea Bay 1940s Museum.

The event takes place at the museum in Baldwin's Crescent, Crymlyn Burrows, just off Fabian Way over the Easter weekend to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War.

Living history actors will be acting out battle scenes and camping on the museum grounds. Staff have made an appeal for local stories of Welsh families that may have served in the war for use during the event.

A spokesman said: "We are keen to hear from people who have specialist knowledge they can pass on to us here at the museum in readiness for this event."
