A MUM has named and shamed her own daughter as an alleged cyber bully.

Cara Schneider got her daughter, Hailey, to pose with a hand-written note after being caught cyber bullying.

The note says: “I am a kind, caring, smart girl, but I make poor choices with social media. As punishment, I am selling my iPod and will be donating the money to the charity Beat Bullying in hopes of changing my behaviour as well as bringing awareness to bullying. Because bullying is wrong.”

She uploaded the photo to Facebook and it was later shared on the social news site reddit where some people accused her of being a bully by ‘humiliating’ her daughter.

One of the people commenting said: “This is terrible parenting. This will only make her behave worse out of spite.”

But Ms Schneider, from North Carolina, said Hailey had refused to respond to other punishments, such as having to do chores or being grounded, so she had resorted to more drastic action.

“I’m not worried about the negative that has been said about her punishment,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

“I am her mother and I did what I thought was best given the circumstances. I’ve tried other punishments, and this fit the crime. I don’t regret a thing.”

Mums know best and is the boss when it comes to bringing up children, I personally believe Cara has got it right, why should she leave it to other enforcements departments to teach her daughter Hailey, lawful lessons of life. It starts within the family structure, ensuring they become good citizens before they leave their home.
