Motorist denies death charge

By South Wales Evening Post  |  Posted: August 13, 2014

A WOMAN has appeared before Swansea Crown Court to deny causing the death of a probation officer by dangerous driving.

Nicola Rees, aged 50, also denied a lesser, alternative charge of causing the death of Greg Flowers by careless driving.

Mr Flowers, who was a well known figure at Neath and Swansea magistrates courts, died when his blue Suzuki motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car on the A4190 near Aberdulais on October 16 last year.

Rees, of Dan y Fron, Abercrave, appeared before Judge Keith Thomas for a plea and case management hearing.

A further directions hearing will take place on September 15 and an eight day trial will begin on January 21 next year.

Rees was further granted bail meanwhile.
