A HOAX poster on Facebook about a ‘missing’ child which has actually been created as part of a propoganda campaign by a far-right race hate group is still catching people unawares on the social network.
People are being warned to avoid the poster which was circulated to thousands of people via social media sites including Facebook.
It is titled ‘missing person’ and suggests that a girl called Amy Hamilton “is believed to have been kidnapped by an Asian grooming gang”.
“She’s 6 years old and was last seen in the Croydon area of London, wearing a pink top and blue jeans,” claims the poster.
But the claim is made up and the photograph on the poster is actually a painting taken from an artist's Flickr page.
It has been produced by "Britons against Left-wing Extremism", a far-right group which publishes material via a blog called the Daily Bale.
