MICHU is "champing at the bit" to join Swansea City's Premier League survival push.
Last season's 22-goal top-scorer returned to training at the end of last week after almost three months out with an ankle problem.
And Swansea are optimistic that the end of Michu's lay-off is in sight.
If all goes to plan this week, the Spanish international could play some part against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
"Michu joined the squad for training on Friday and Saturday," said Swansea physio Richard Buchanan.
"He will do gym and pool work for the next two days as part of his graded return, before joining the group again for training on Wednesday.
"He has had a good response since having the injection a fortnight ago. We have still got to manage his return carefully, but he is champing at the bit to play as soon as possible."
