AFTER discovering the secrets of sex as Dr William H Masters, Port Talbot actor Michael Sheen is now set to make us all laugh - in a pastel pink suit.
The 44-year-old is one of the stars of The Spoils Of Babylon, a six-episode spoof which parodies dramas like the Thorn Birds from the 70s and 80s.
The show also features former Spiderman star Tobey Maguire and Bridesmaids’ Kristen Wiig as siblings who become entangled in a scandalous love affair that threatens to tear their extremely wealthy family apart.
The programme looks at an entire century and Sheen plays Wiig’s put-upon husband.
It is produced by Funny Or Die, the sketch-based website co-founded by Ferrell and Knocked Up director Judd Apatow.
But there have been mixed reviews so far.
Variety said: “The Spoils Of Babylon looks like programming done on the cheap, but the fact it comes across like a high-school production is ostensibly part of its charm.
“What is more, there’s something amusingly ironic about it having attracted talent like Michael Sheen, whose agents wouldn’t normally let him be caught dead in such cut-rate environs.”
But the New York Times said: “Babylon ought to be funnier, or at least more daring, given the personnel involved”.
The Spoils of Babylon will be premiered in the UK on Fox on January 18.
