ALL 2,000 places for the inaugural Swansea Half Marathon have been filled.
Registration has now closed, just two weeks after the event was first announced.
Race organisers David Martin-Jewell and Nick Francis said they had been overwhelmed with the level of interest for the event on July 20.
Mr Martin-Jewell said: "We knew the demand for the event would be good, but the rate at which registrations have been flooding in has surprised us. The support from the local running community and further afield has been incredible.
"Now that the event is full, we can focus on delivering a half marathon that the city can be proud of."
Hayley Davies, CEO of JCP Solicitors, the principal partner for the half marathon said: "The fact that all 2,000 spaces have been filled in just 14 days shows that there is a real appetite in Swansea for an event of this type.
"We have a proud sporting heritage in the city and it's the perfect time to initiate a half marathon into our annual calendar of exciting events. It's been so well received by both the athletic community and those looking to get more involved in running longer distances that we're sure the event will be a great success."
The route will be announced in the coming weeks.
