Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road accident in Swansea.

The male casualty - who has not yet been identified - was found lying in the road on Dyfatty Street in the city centre at around 5.30am this morning.

He was rushed to Morriston Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police say a 68-year-old driver of a silver Audi estate car is currently helping them with their enquiries.

Officers are appealing for anybody with information to come forward.

A South Wales Police spokesman said: "Police need to urgently speak to anyone who may have travelled along Dyfatty Street this morning between 5am hours and 5.30am, or who may have seen the pedestrian or the Audi vehicle beforehand."
