A BURRY Port hairdresser has been celebrating her success at a prestigious competition.

Louise Barfoot, who has owned Styling Station for the past nine years, scooped third prize at a Salon Cymru competition at the Swalec Stadium in Cardiff.

The 32-year-old from Princess Street in Llanelli said: "I was in the cutting category and the subject was to do a tribute to Vidal Sassoon with your own twist.

"There were around 10 to 12 other people in my category. It was brilliant to come third because I haven't done a competition since 2008. I was not expecting anything. I did not know what they would be looking for."
