A TRIO who ran from Parc y Scarlets to the Millennium Stadium treated themselves to an extra three miles after getting lost in Bridgend.
Matthew Marzano, his brother Andrew and their pal James Healey had enough on their plate when they set off for the 53-mile charity jaunt at midnight last Saturday.
But after heading through Skewen and Pyle, their sense of direction took a turn for the worse. "We did a tour of Bridgend!" said Matthew.
After getting back on track they headed past Cowbridge and into the capital, 12 hours after leaving Llanelli. There was plenty of entertainment on offer with an all-Welsh Pro 12 double-header at the stadium, but the Llanelli trio were too worn out to watch.
Matthew, 31, said they were not built for long-distance running, but thrived on a challenge, having climbed Mont Blanc together and completed the London Marathon.
Matthew and Andrew, 28, used to run Caffe Americano in Swansea Marina and are now planning to open a bar in Carmarthen. They hope to raise £2,000 for Cancer Research Wales with last weekend's run, which won't be their last
Matthew added: "There's always another challenge."
