VOLUNTEERS with Port Talbot's lifeboat service were in action at the weekend.
They were called out after a 20ft fishing boat with three people on board contacted the Coastguard to report engine failure.
Port Talbot RNLI spokesman Mel Cooper said: "The vessel was approximately two miles off Aberavon beach in a moderate choppy sea and was drifting.
"The lifeboat was soon on scene and a tow was established and the vessel was towed to its moorings in the River Afan.
"The persons on board were then handed over to the local Coastguard and the lifeboat returned to station."
It happened just before 11.30am on Saturday and the lifeboat was crewed by Leon Murphy, Rebecca Owen and Ryan Toms.
