HOOKER Ken Owens says the Scarlets are determined to finish the season strongly after seeing their Pro12 play-off hopes ended with a miserable 14-6 defeat in Glasgow on Saturday night.

The West Wales region produced arguably their worst performance of the campaign in one of their most important games and it now leaves them looking nervously over their shoulder as they look to secure European qualification for next season.

"It was a disappointing night, we didn't have enough territory or ball and when we did have the ball we weren't able to hold onto to it long enough," said Owens.

"Our play-off chances are probably gone, we need other sides to make mistakes, but we need to finish the season strongly and try to win every game we have left."

Prop Samson Lee, full-back Liam Williams, centre Olly Barkley and lock Joe Snyman picked up knocks in a physical encounter at Scotstoun, while head coach Simon Easterby will hope to welcome back Wales fly-half Rhys Priestland for Sunday's clash with Connacht at Parc y Scarlets.
