SWANSEA Harrier Caryl Jones smashed the course record on her way to victory in the Brighton 10K.
The 25-year-old West Walian clocked a time of 32 minutes and 34 seconds, more than half a minute inside the previous best of 32:14 set two years ago.
The time was also just three seconds outside of Jones's personal best.
Jones, who is currently ranked third in the UK over 10K, has enjoyed an outstanding 2012 on the track, road and over cross country.
She recently claimed victory in the McCain Bristol Cross Challenge and if she continues her form going into the next leg of the series in Liverpool on Saturday, she is in line to be selected for the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team for next month's European Cross Country Championships in Budapest.
