Lunch Recipes For During Pregnancy

 We realise that lots of you

Mammas-to-be out there are busy women; it can be challenging to maintain a

healthy balanced diet when you're having to grab lunch on the go and we've all

given in to the pre-packaged sandwich, even though these aren't always the healthiest

option!

The following recipes can be lovingly prepared and enjoyed on your day off or

quickly put together in the morning, wrapped up and taken to work for a lunch

time treat! What's more, each dish contains some of the vitamins that you should

be aiming to take in daily, so not only will you and bump enjoy a tasty lunch,

but you will also enjoy the benefits too.

Smoked

Chicken and Avocado Salad

This delicious salad is a

so good for you!  Avocados are packed

with vitamins and a great source of potassium, which is important in helping

your body to release energy from protein, fats and carbohydrates. Avocados are

also high in folate content, meaning that they are beneficial in the

development of your baby's brain.

As added extras, pomegranates are full of antioxidants and the chicken provides

a good portion of low fat protein (essential for your baby's growth).  This salad is perfect to take to work for

lunch!

Ciabatta

with halloumi, basil and sundried tomatoes

 Halloumi is made from sheep's and goat's

milk and so is a great source of calcium. Babies need calcium to grow healthy

bones and teeth and for their heart, nerve and muscle development.

 Rocket has plenty of folate, which is

essential for the development of your baby, and tomatoes will boost your

vitamin C intake.

Here are a list of some great sandwich ideas; some are a healthy options, such

as the Avocado and Chicken or Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil, while others can be

viewed as a treat! Our favourites are the Hawaiian Toastie or the Pesto Chicken

Sandwich!
