PARENTS at a Llanelli school have been getting stuck in to prepare a community forest for spring.

Keep Wales Tidy volunteers joined a group of mums, dads and grandparents of youngsters at Bynea Primary School as part of the garden enhancement project.

The group was doing work to prepare the space so the youngsters can have outdoor lessons to learn about science and nature. The work included litter picking, strimming, tree pruning and installing a new footpath.

Head teacher Tania Morgan said: "We had a great turnout of parents. The children do lots of lessons in there.

"They were cutting branches and things back so there's nothing at eye level."
