GARRY Monk has urged Swansea City not to waste their Europa League chance when they face Napoli in the last 32 at the Liberty tonight.
Swansea start as heavy underdogs against Rafael Benitez’s Serie A giants.
But Monk believes Ashley Williams and Co have the ability to upset the odds — and has asked them to seize their European opportunity.
“These are the games you will look back on at the end of your career,” said Swansea’s new head coach.
“The message to the players is not to waste this chance.
“The atmosphere is going to be amazing. Our fans will be up for it and I think there will be a lot of Italians here too.
“It should be a great atmosphere and I want the players to enjoy it — but you will only enjoy it if you put in a performance.
“We have to play with no fear. Napoli are a top side with good players all across the pitch, but we have got good players as well.
“We have beaten many a top team at home and away, and we can give anyone a game if we get our performance right.”
Swansea could welcome Jonjo Shelvey and Alejandro Pozuelo back from injury tonight, but Michu and Kyle Bartley will miss out. Michu has had a painkilling injection on his ankle and is now aiming to return in next week’s second leg.
