EVERY little helps and Calan Domestic Violence Service (DVS) has been given a helping hand by Tesco.

The mobile phone shop at the supermarket's Llansamlet store has donated a new phone to the group, which supports victims of domestic abuse with two refuges in Neath and Pontardawe.

As well as the phone, the store also raffled off another headset, which raised £100 for the group.

Support worker with Calan DVS Melanie Beynon said: "I approached someone at the store to see if we could do some fundraising at the front of the shop.

Will Tesco be as generous to their suppliers now and not push them to the brink of bankruptcy due to the squeezing of margins that Tesco apply to farmers/bakers etc.

I must go into tescos every other day, I didn't see anything advertised about a raffle or this charity? Such a good cause should have had some advertising surely?
